Hydraulic Breaker Parts Hydraulic Hammer Piston
The piston of a hydraulic breaker is a critical component of the hydraulic breaker, and its performance directly determines the reliability and service life of the breaker. The piston is made of high-strength alloy steel 42CrMo to ensure it has sufficient strength and wear resistance under high-speed reciprocating motion and frequent impacts. Its surface undergoes heat treatment processes such as carburizing and quenching to enhance surface hardness and wear resistance.
Common faults of the piston include galling and scratches, which cause internal leakage and thus a decrease in impact force. It may also suffer from transverse cracks or get "stuck" in the cylinder barrel.
The surface finish of the piston should be inspected every 500 hours, and its replacement cycle is approximately 2000-3000 hours. During maintenance, pay attention to avoid damage to the piston surface, regularly check the fit clearance between the piston and the cylinder block, and ensure the seals are intact to prevent hydraulic oil leakage.
